2011
The project has started in late 2010, when the news of the soon-to-be-granted license of the Belo Monte Dam began circulating. I, then, decided to grab my camera and watch it all more closely. In 2011, I went on two trips to the area: the first one in January, and the other in July. The license ended up being granted only in June, but the changes in the surroundings of the future plant could already be felt way before that.
